Hello this is an important weather message from the Freeport Emergency Management Office.

The national weather service as issued a COASTAL FLOOD WARNING from 7:00 pm through 11:00 PM Monday and again from 7:00Am through 11:00 AM Tuesday.

Freeport is expected to have minor to moderate street flooding during the High Tides occurring at 8:23 PM Monday night. 8:43 PM Tuesday morning.

We are asking all residents that live in the flood prone area to move your cars, and move personnel property to higher ground through Tuesday night. We may also have a higher than normal tide both Tuesday night and again Wednesday morning.

The Freeport Emergency Management Office will continue providing updates to our residents as needed.

Vehicles can be moved to the Freeport train station parking lot and any other Village parking lots except the Recreation Center. Metered Parking restrictions will be suspended at 6:00 am until Tuesday afternoon at 6pm. Handicapped parking restrictions will be enforced.

Residents can visit the Village of Freeport website to select any language from our Swiftreach 911 emergency notification system for future alerts.
