THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM TUESDAY EVENING THROUGH 4 AM THURSDAY MORNING

*HAZARD TYPES… HEAVY WET SNOW
*ACCUMULATIONS OF 6 TO 12 INCHES FORECASTED
* TIMING… TUESDAY EVENING THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING.
* IMPACTS... SNOW COVERED STREETS AND SIDEWALKS

WE ARE ASKING ALL RESIDENTS TO PLEASE MOVE YOUR CARS OFF THE STREETS THROUGHOUT THE VILLAGE DURING THIS SNOW EVENT. WHILE USING YOUR SNOWBLOWER OR SHOVELS, AIM THE SNOW TOWARDS YOUR HOUSE, NOT OUT INTO THE STREET. IF YOU HAVE A FIRE HYDRANT NEAR YOUR HOME, PLEASE MAKE A SMALL PATH AND HAVE THE HYDRANT EXPOSED. AS THIS IS A NOR’EASTER ONCE AGAIN, WE COULD SEE ADDITIONAL TIDAL FLOODING AT TIMES OF HIGH TIDE FOR WEDNESDAY TIDE CYCLES.

FREEPORT EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT IS MONITORING THIS IMPENDING EVENT AND WILL KEEP EVERYONE ADVISED. PLEASE KEEP YOURSELVES INFORMED VIA TV, OR NOAA RADIO ON RADIO STATION 1690 AM ON FREEPORT’S EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT’S RADIO STATION 24/7.
