Many of you may remember last year when Mr. Alan Jay, who I otherwise call Freeport's BOT (Board of Trustees) patriarch, told a story to our board regarding the history of our recreation center which he refers to as our Taj Mahal. Mr. Jay gave Freeporters not only a glimpse of our rec but the critical way that it has occupied potential idle minds and supported the physical "movers and shakers" in Freeport. It should come as no surprise that what our rec offers deserves it's climb from Bethpage's Best of LI 2012 second best to 2013's #1. Congrats to those who make it all happen in our recreation center and thank you to those who visit our rec and voted for us to be acknowledged.
