10/13 Weather Update:
This is an important message from Mayor Robert Kennedy and the Freeport Office of Emergency Management.
A Nor’easter is still impacting Freeport today and the National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for our area.
NOAA is predicting Moderate Street flooding during our high tide cycle today 2:25 PM. Please note we are expecting today’s high tide to be higher than the previous 2 high tide cycles.
Residents are advised to move their cars off the streets and take precautionary measures to protect your property.
Parking regulations in municipal lots will be suspended until noon on Tuesday, October 14th for residential use.
National Weather is also predicting high winds of 25-35 miles per hour with gusts to 60 which could bring down trees and wires. Residents should not approach any down wires or drive through flooded streets.
